We are of this world is a photographic series intended to attune with material aspects of the more-than-human world in order to inspire awareness of life in the Anthropocene. I am using multiple methods of photographic inquiry including performative imagery staged for the camera, lens based abstraction, and cameraless collages with botanical toners. As humans are now the dominant influence of climate, our actions directly impact environmental health. These works are made to remind humans that we are entangled in our ecologies and our actions have direct consequences on our collective future. These works are intended to serve simultaneously as a memorial and an aesthetically engaging talisman to support such mindshifts that view the land and water as kin.
